Cllr Khan and Cllr Smith at St Albans Road improvements
Following pressure from your local Labour team, Hertfordshire County council has agreed to resurface St Albans between the junction with Balmoral Road and Leavesden Road. The condition of the road has steadily deteriorated, drains are often blocked and the flooding usually occurs in parts of the road. North Watford County Councillor Asif Khan said, “this is great news for the area. We had been campaigning for the area to be improved and were happy to see the pavements improved. The condition has been really poor. St Albans Road is a busy main road, the county council should be embarrassed that it has got to such a state.”

Leggatts councillor Richard Smith pictured below with Cllr Khan said, “I regularly drive along this road and it is clear to see the poor condition, it is riddled with potholes and it needs to be resurfaced as soon as possible.”

The County Council is still to confirm a date for the work to commence. Dennis Watling, Callowand Labour candidate said: “I’ll be working closely with Cllr Khan to ensure that a date is set for residents. As a local myself, I know fixing St Albans Road cannot come soon enough. I’ll continue working with residents and officials to make sure our area can be in the best condition possible.“
