Its time for equal access to fertility treatment
Current NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB guidance states that people in same-sex couples have to prove infertility by self-funding 6 cycles of artificial insemination before they can access NHS-funded IVF. This means that LGBTQ+ couples in this area may have to pay up to £9,600 before they can access NHS services, while those in opposite sex couples do not have to pay anything, this is not the case in all ICBs. We the undersigned call on you to change your guidelines and ensure equal access to fertility treatment for same sex couples.
