We the undersigned are concerned that Liberal Democrat-run Watford Borough Council has permitted huge high-rise towers, such as the ‘Taylor’s Towers’ at  the Range Development,to be built forever blighting our skyline and creating a heavily crammed area. We call upon the council to stop giving permission for towers over 15-storeys and urgently review its high buildings policy.

We also call upon the council to enforce its quota of 35% affordable homes, not habitable rooms, in newly-built developments. Far too many developers have been given planning permission without them providing adequate affordable housing. We know this can be done and Watford can still meet its housing target.

We urgently call on Conservative MP, Dean Russell, to demand from his government that they reduce the ever-increasing homes delivery target for Watford.
