With the announcement that ASOS is looking to cut hundreds more jobs from its customer care centre in Leavesden, Councillor Nigel Bell has issued this response:

“It is incredibly disappointing to see ASOS proceeding with plans to outsource hundreds of jobs despite the company’s recent increased financial performance.

This will cause a huge amount of stress for workers who face unemployment in what are already very difficult circumstances.

We fully support the work of the trade union GMB and hope that Watford’s MP, Dean Russell, will be working to prevent yet further job losses across our town following the closures of Debenhams and John Lewis in recent weeks.”
