Mighty Mo Mills wins Vicarage by-election

Newly elected Councillor Mo Mills with Vicarage Councillors
Popular local Vicarage resident Mo Mills has been elected as a Watford Borough Councillor in the Vicarage By-election held on 6 October. Mo said "I am delighted and proud to have been elected to represent the Community where I have lived for over 40 years and would like to thank all those who helped in the
successful campaign, and above all, all those who voted for me. I will serve all the Community and I look forward to working with colleagues to make Vicarage a better place."
Labour supporters celebrated their conclusive victory in the Vicarage Ward by-election by polling a massive 52.6% share of the vote against four other candidates.
The steady decline of Liberal Democrat support in West Watford was confirmed as their candidate polled just 23% compared to a 37% share of the vote the last time this seat was contested in 2008. The Lib Dem share had fallen from 27% just five months ago.
The Tory share of the vote collapsed from 17% in May 2010 to just 5.4%, falling behind two independents to secure just 95 votes from Vicarage ward’s 5,902 electors.
