On behalf of the Regional Office, can I thank you for all the hard work, dedication, time and energy you have given the Party. You ran a great campaign in Watford and have held the local Party together in skilful and dignified manner. I wish you well in your retirement from the posts you have carried out so well, and welcome your commitment to continue working for the Party. Andy Smith, Acting Regional Director, The Labour Party
You have conducted your role with complete dedication and commitment throughout my time here and I have enjoyed our relationship throughout. Thank you for the experience Mike and we wish you really well for the future. Manny Lewis, Managing Director, Watford Council
Please can I confirm everything Manny has said in his reply. As Watford’s Election’s Manager since 2006, I have appreciated our relationship which I trust you too feel has served us well in ensuring that all eligible Watford residents have had opportunity to choose and vote as they desired. It is always sad when dedicated individuals stand down from office, but I truly hope in your case the move only serves to assist in maintaining, if not improving your current health. Gordon Amos Elections Manager Watford Council

Mike, it was an honour to serve alongside you as Constituency Secretary from 2010 to 2016. Your overriding advice and your constant exhortation - your personal standing orders, for yourself as much as for your colleagues - was to always do the best job we possibly could for the Party, and always to do it democratically, fairly and considerately. Watford Labour Party has been lucky to have you. Brendan O'Brien
Hi Mike. Thank you for letting me know that, after an outstanding lifetime of commitment and service to working people, you are now standing down. I have always greatly admired you, Mike and you are just a plain nice guy. I have very fond memories of our work together. Stay in touch, comrade. Jack Dromey MP
48 years! You have quite obviously paid your dues over and over again. You have made massive contributions to the Labour Party and thereby to working people everywhere and your retirement should bring long moments of happy reflections and memories of great times, even if some of those times were spent on a roller coaster! Crosby and Judy Walker
Although I've been a lifelong Labour supporter, I am fairly new as a member of the Labour party and to helping out at Watford Labour Party. During my time "on the phones" and the occasional meeting I have always felt very welcomed and included by you. You created a very friendly atmosphere, so it was with great disappointment that I read your email about your ill health and your need to stand down as Chair and Election Agent. I am so sorry to hear that your prostate cancer has progressed. This must be a very worrying
time for you and you must now put all your time and effort into looking after yourself. After five decades serving the cause of Labour it is now time to serve the cause of Mike Jackson! Pauline Beer
Very sorry to learn about your illness. Hope the prognosis is positive going forward. Thank you very much for your dedication and great service to the Party. Frederick Oshunniyi
Thank you for all you have done for the party locally and bringing me into the labour family. I truly appreciate your openness and enthusiasm and guidance you have provided to me.I wish you all the best of luck and with Gods help manage your illness for years to come. Junior Sesay

Thanks for all you have done to serve the local community and the Labour party, you have done way more than your share. Faisal
Dear Mike, I hope your well earned retirement helps you take the much needed time and space to deal with whatever happens. Although we have had our differences I have learned a great deal from you and you have certainly done the party proud. I hope I can build on what I have learned and that you will still be a part of the Watford Labour Party family. Sara Jane Trebar
Thank you so much for all your service to the Labour Party. It has been extraordinary and is very much appreciated. 48 years! How many canvassing sessions would that be? If we assume two sessions a week (an average to account for times when there are no elections - is that fair?), that's nearly 5,000 sessions. That must be a lot of contacts! And I know the canvassing is very much just the tip of the iceberg of all you have done for the party. Emma Kosmin
Through tears of sadness for you, I say that I wish you the very best. We had our spats, on boy we did, but it was simply a matter of reaching the same destination in a different way. You’re one tough cookie to have gone through your illness whilst trying to carry the Labour torch and you have our deepest respect. Linda Meehan
THANK YOU for all the immense effort you have put into the Labour Party. I appreciate it all. I’m so sorry to hear that your health is suffering. I can’t thank you enough. Maggie Taylor
I came to live in Watford six years ago. Prior to that family members who already lived here made me envious of the dedication and passion of Watford Labour Party. Once living here I realised that at the heart of our local party driving all the hard work and desire to get change for our country was you.So for that I say a huge THANK YOU Rosemary Reardon
